Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!
As I look back on the Year of the Pig, there are some things that I am very proud of, and others not so much! I did very well with most of my goals last year, and failed greatly at others.
Blogging and Journaling was one of my failures. I have never been one to write a diary, or keep track of my day to day, let alone even write a grocery list (just ask my husband!). I had tried a few times to change up a schedule, and to find a way, but was not successful!
So here we are in a New Year, and I am Going to Find a Way!! I do know that Blogging and Journaling are probably the most important goal to maintain, as it keeps you connected to your team for one. And if it isn't tracked, it didn't happen!!
So I thought I would put it out there on the very First day of Chinese New Year, Year of the Rat!
I am a Rat in the Chinese Zodiac, so I am pumped for the year ahead! Only Good Things to come this year! Yes life will still be busy, and schedules will need to be rearranged, but I am ALL IN, and Ready for the Challenge!
Happy New Year to my fellow Rats, and farewell to my fellow Pigs of last year! Hope you all enjoyed the year as much as I did. It was great to get to know everyone, and get closer to students in the school that I may not have had the change to if not for the I Ho Chuan. I will miss the people who are not joining us this year, and look forward to getting to know the new faces!
For as there was failure for me, failure brings change, and life is change. So I very much look forward to the year ahead! New Team, new Goals, new Challenges, and more Successes!!
The Chinese New Year banquet was again, another Amazing Success! Thank you everyone for all of your hard work! It still amazing me, year after year, the way everyone pulls together and gets the job done, it is heart warming. So many people, so many jobs to do, and yet it is so seamless!
This was my first year to be up on the main stage, with a Demo for I Ho Chuan, and my first year as part of the Dragon Dance. Although my demo could have went better - almost dropped my sword - but managed to save it, I hope it still looked okay! And the Dragon Dance - I haven't seen the video proof yet, but it felt Fantastic!! What a team, what a Great job from everyone! And a special thank you to Mr. Dyble for all of your hard work in putting it all together, and keeping us focused!
A very big Congratulations to our 2 new Blackbelts, Sifu Sollinger and Sifu Ward!! It seemed different this year for me with the Blackbelt ceremony, as I have trained in the past few years, with these fine gentlemen, and come up the ranks with them, if you will. Well deserved for all of your hard work, your leadership, and your dedication. It was even more emotional for me this year (as I always shed some tears at the Blackbelt ceremony), because I have worked along side of the both of you. It is almost nostalgic for me, and it kind of sank in that I could be preparing for that ceremony in the nearer future. Daunting, scary and exciting. I am very much looking forward to my continued Journey in Kung Fu, and Mastery.
Again, Happy Chinese New Year Everyone, looking forward to another Amazing Year!
