Favorite Time of the Day

One of my favorite times of the day has become reading blogs. I so much enjoy this as a part of my everyday now, sometimes once a day, some days several times.

I never took full advantage of the blogging until this year. And boy do I kick myself for that!

The insight and perspective I am gaining for myself as a martial artist is invaluable. The information I am learning not only about myself, but about my whole team, and fellow students is an opportunity to not ever pass up.

Even when someone is struggling I learn so much. And I find it heart lifting to see those struggles disappear, and to be a part of that. It is so important for someone to share where they are truly at - in life, and in Kung Fu. There is nothing quite like being a part of this special team, and amazing school.

Thank you all for all you have given and continue to give to me. In providing so much guidance, and helping me learn more about myself, and this path I have chosen. It is an absolute honor to be on this journey with you.

An 'Advent'urous month

Well this month is certainly shaping out to be an adventurous one, in the most positive way!

Do you ever see, or partake in someone's idea, and go 'why didn't I think of that"! This is one of those times with our current Advent Calendar challenge, so graciously shared by Malinda Ferris. It is really such a wonderful, creative idea, and a big shout out to her!

As I sit here to write my blog, I realize my arms have a bit of a shake to them lol. We are also celebrating Master McNeills 80th birthday challenge of 800 push ups today. I am currently half way through. Amazing that this 80 year is giving himself 800 push ups for his birthday!!

We are one week into our advent calendar, and it has by far exceeded my expectations, with the challenge itself, as well as with myself. With every challenge, I am focusing on every part of the technique that we are doing. Guards up, core tight, legs tight, correct foot/hand position, and making sure that every rep is worthy. This has slowed some of it down, but I am feeling really good by the end of the daily challenge. This has caused me to push myself, push my limits, and I am loving it!!

If I want to grade for my black belt this year, it is high time to get a good conditioning routine in. And this is the perfect thing to kick it off. So much so, that it is going to become one of my personal requirements for the year, and add a weekly challenge of one of the black belt testing techniques. I am so looking forward to it!

When I get up in the mornings this last week, I am feeling very old lol. But this is actually making me feel really good, because it means that I pushed myself, and I won! I am even starting to start my daily and advent challenge workouts in the mornings. Okay, I will give in to you all who said this was the best way to start your day!! I eventually listen haha!

I love to read about everyone's wins and challenges as well. It is great to read the questions being asked, and the insights being learned. After all, this does help us all, so thank you to those for sharing.

Off to finishing my 400 push ups now. See you all the screen!

Maintenance

This past week I focused on maintaining. This time of year is busy for most everyone. It’s also the time of year that people are running ou...
