Wude is a concept that is paramount in any traditional Kung Fu school. Translating as martial morality, Wude embodies what we try to teach our students and practice in our everyday lives.
Yes, I posted this for the team, as written by Sifu Rybak. But what does this mean to me?
The Kwoon is a home away from home for me, and it is with me at all times. The Kwoon, and Kung Fu are part of my every day, every minute of my day. In the way I live my life, do my job, interact with others, and treat my environment.
I look forward to Back to School week every year, as it is a time to strictly focus on making the Kwoon a part of me, and making myself a part of the Kwoon. But it is not only this one week of the year that I take an opportunity to do this. Mopping after class, sweeping on the weekend, emptying and picking up garbage, washing towels. Taking part in activities outside of classes. These are all small things that I enjoy doing, and help me to be connected to my Kung Fu school.
Engaging, lending a helping hand, organizing, and being a part of a group. These are all part of my home away from home, and help me to be a better person. Wude is a part of me, my life, my family.
